Walter Lane

Walter Lane serves as the Director of Planning at the Somerset County Planning Division. He is responsible for all of the County’s planning efforts, the Office of Solid Waste Management, Agriculture Development Board, the County’s Cultural and Heritage Commission and the Somerset County Energy Council. Walter is a licensed New Jersey Professional Planner and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He currently serves on the President of the NJ County Planners Association and the Executive Committee of the Somerset County Business Partnership. Walter also serves as the co-chair of the Sustainable Jersey Transportation and Land Use Taskforce and the Obesity Task Force of Healthier Somerset. He is a graduate of Cook College, Rutgers University and holds a B.S. in Environmental Policy.
